Walk Please

As Parents, we’re always telling our kids to Walk, Don’t jump, Quit running, Stay away from the road.

The reason is very simple…It is so that this:

Doesn’t happen to someone like this:

Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happen to poor Bella Rose this past Friday evening.

Mandi and I were sitting on the porch, Bella Was playing behind us, and she fell off the porch.  It happened very quietly but quickly turned into a very real and scary situation.

16 hours after falling off the porch and a complicated open reduction surgery with pins, we were allowed to see her again.

Bella turned 5 on Tuesday of Last week, and Saturday was suppose to be her birthday party.  Most family and friends showed up at the hospital to help Mandi and I through the difficult 3 hour surgery waiting period.

I was in no mood to take pictures during this time period. So let’s skip to the being back home part of the story.

Kids are resilient, 40 hours after falling off our front porch into a pile of bones and flesh, then being carted off to the Emergency room for a night or x-rays, IVs, mini casts, cramped rooms with all night observations, 3 hour open reduction surgery and then another night in the hospital for observation—our Bella Rose is finally home, and happy again.

A day at market.

That night at dinner

A day’s wild adventure, almost ending a mile from our destination.

We drove for 45 minutes, through signless roads, and unmarked roudabouts to see this sign, detour another 45 minutes to reach our destination(the cliffs below) only to find out the bridge that was out was just across from where we were going. (no wonder so man people were parked near this sign.
